Simple 100 calorie soup recipe ‘perfect’ for losing weight

Soup is the perfect meal for this time of year.

It’s warm, comforting and full of stuff that’s good for us. Perhaps that’s why this recipe can help you shed the pounds and eat well.

Matt Boxall took to TikTok to share his perfect recipe for “weight loss” soup. He said it’s only 100 calories per portion, and it’s pretty easy to whip up too.

All you need to do is roast one carrot, 80g of chopped sweet potato, 80g of tomato, half an onion and two garlic cloves. Before you pop them in the oven to cook, add some salt, pepper and chilli flakes, and roast at 200C (fan) for 20 minutes.

Once cooked, simply pop the vegetable mix into a blender with a splash of coconut milk and 300ml of vegetable stock. Give it all a good whizz in the blender, and there you have your perfectly simple and super healthy soup!

People were thrilled with the recipe, as the video has been liked more than 50,000 times. Not to mention, some people even suggested how you could boost the soup to make it more filling.

One person said: “Add some lentils and there’s more fibre and protein.” Another quipped: “This is delicious, but I would eat this with a whole baguette.” A third suggested: “Add cabbage… thicken it. Still super low calorie, but at least filling.”

For those who asked why the soup aids with weight loss, the answer is pretty simple. The meal is low calorie and high volume, which works to make you full.

This means it will keep you satisfied for longer and prevent you wanting to reach for snacks. A tasty way to stop you eating those calorie-dense foods!

Many people raved about how simple the recipe is too. You don’t need to be an amazing cook to be able to pull it off!

One wrote: “The most realistic soup I can actually make.” Another added: “It looks good – kind of like a carrot soup.”

Someone else chimed in with: “Beautiful but, if you do all that work, make a big batch and freeze some.” Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “I just made this today. It was so nice. I’d definitely make it again. Thanks.”
