Alarming footage showing Australian tennis player Bernard Tomic being ruthlessly attacked by two men has gone viral across social media.

The 16-second clip shows the two men standing over Tomic and attempting to kick and stomp the 30-year-old pro athlete.

Tomic, wearing an all-grey tracksuit, appears to be desperately trying to fend off his attackers, covering his face throughout the duration of the clip before one of the men attempts to pick him up off the ground and back to his feet.
The authenticity of the video remains unknown, as does the identities of the two men laying the beatdown on the former world No. 17 Aussie, as well as the identity of the individual filming.
There are various reports the video was filmed outside of a tattoo parlour on Australia’s Gold Coast, south of Brisbane.
It wasn’t immediately clear as to when the savage attack happened.

In the video, one man can be heard shouting at Tomic to “get up, ya dog.”
According to the New York Post, Tomic, who was born in Germany but is an Australian citizen, competed in a challenger event in Istanbul, losing in the Round of 16 on Thursday, in three sets.
Australia’s news.com.au has reportedly spoken to Queensland Police regarding the video.
The Queenslander has rebounded to world No. 292 after seeing his ranking tumble to 825th.

In 2015, he faced charges of resisting arrest after allegedly refusing to turn down loud music in his suite at a Miami Beach hotel.
Tomic fell out of favour with Tennis Australia after he blasted Aussie tennis icon Lleyton Hewitt back in 2019.
