King Charles has instructed the royal purse-keeper to “sever” Prince Andrew’s annual £1 million allowance, according to royal writer Robert Hardman in a new book serialised by the Daily Mail.

The keeper of the privy purse was “instructed to sever [Andrew’s] living allowance” after the Duke of York refused to move out of his 30-room mansion the Royal Lodge into the smaller, nearby Frogmore Cottage.

“’The duke is no longer a financial burden on the King,’ confirms one familiar with the situation,” Mr Hardman writes.

“’He claims to have found other sources of income related to his contacts in international trade, sufficient to cover all his costs – which would be a welcome outcome for all parties if that turns out to be the case.

“’But as to whether this funding can be relied upon in the long term is another matter.’”

Shocking pictures have shown Prince Andrew’s home in disrepair amid reports King Charles has withdrawn his £1 million annual “living allowance” after he refused to move out.

As Andrew’s financial woes continue, images have shown black mould and large cracks in exterior walls of his 31-bedroom Windsor home.

Friends close to the Queen have expressed their concerns over the King’s determination to return to full duties too quickly after his diagnosis earlier this year.

While Buckingham Palace outlines plans for Charles to return to a “full” schedule of international travel next year, concerns about his well-being remain.

A senior palace official told GBNews: “We’re now working on a pretty normal-looking full overseas tour program for next year.”

Last year, Kate missed the ceremony in Singapore while Prince George was taking his exams.

At the time, a senior Palace source said: “The Princess will not be attending. Prince George has exams that week and the Princess wants to be at home to support him.”

A new ITV documentary will be released going behind the scenes of Queen Camilla’s work to raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence.

In September, the Queen personally backed The Independent’s campaign to build a safe refuge for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.

Camilla has been a long supporter of women escaping abusive partners, and a vocal critic of violence within the home.

An adviser to the monarch said she would “take a keen interest as the plans evolve” and described such safe spaces as “vital in providing a lifeline to those at their lowest ebb”.

The new documentary will now share other elements of her work regarding domestic abuse.

The broadcaster wrote on X: “Her Majesty The Queen: Behind Closed Doors is a new documentary following The Queen as she works to raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence. Coming soon to ITV1 and ITVX.”
