Royal fans united over Meghan Markle’s latest fashion faux pas as she flaunts £4,800 cape | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a new appearance on Thursday, just hours before Princess Kate’s shock cancer announcement and royal fans had one thing to say.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Kinsey African American Art and History Collection’s event at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, where they gave a speech about black history and art.

TV host Shaun Robinson, who also attended the event among others, shared a picture of the pair as they spoke to the audience.

In another video from the event by screenwriter Matheos Coelho, Meghan was heard saying: “I thought oh my gosh, the extension of that can mean you’re vocal about your success, they’ll see you and say you deserved it.

“And hopefully you get to that place… so a huge thanks to the Kinsey family of course for not just having this incredible…”

Meghan wore Carolina Herrera’s floral-embroidered wool cape worth £4,802.

She paired the look with a pair of black wide trousers and black pointed pumps.

She accessorised the look with some gold earrings, Cartier’s gold tank Française watch (£28,200), the brand’s Love yellow gold bracelet (£7,050) and Ariel Gordon’s diamond hex Tennis bracelet (£4,400).

But royal fans appeared to unanimously not approve of how the duchess paired the cape with wide-leg trousers.

One user wrote on Instagram: “Love the cape, but don’t like the wide pants underneath, looks like she’s drowning in this look. Her HMU looks fabulous, though.”

A second one said: “Love her and this top but the pants are not it. It would look great with tights or jeans or literally anything else.”

A third one agreed: “Gorgeous cape.. pants are too wide”.

A fourth user commented: “Beautiful cape. Not a fan of the styling but it probably looks better in person. Hard to see all the details”.

Lastly, a fifth one claimed: “Her pants are too wide for this cape [thumbs down emoji]”.
