Rosie Assoulin Resort 2025 Collection

Rosie Assoulin is finding the balance in contradictions. Drapery and rigidity, khaki mixed with floral jacquards, and serious suiting in playful patterns all comprise Assoulin’s resort 2025 offering. “It’s light and unserious, but with real construction, and subtle fabrics,” she said. “[We are] trying to still appeal to our luxury tastes, but with a more approachable, lighthearted feeling.”

Assoulin makes clothes for sunny, fun-loving customers. Sifting through the racks, my immediate first thought was that she makes clothing for the most fun wedding guest. Case in point: a tangerine, floral-print column number that Assoulin nicknamed the “banana” dress, affixed with two padded crescents at the neckline and hanging off the shoulder. Another color-blocked dress mixes prints seen across the collection, and features pistachio green neckties for shoulder straps. Another juxtaposition, per Assoulin: “This color-blocking feels very louche and very rich at the same time.”

Even in her more straightforward occasion wear, she finds a way to incorporate her free-spirited sensibilities. A red off-the-shoulder maxi dress drapes over itself to reveal the recurring pistachio satin inside. As does a black strapless dress with a thigh-high slit. “There’s something about a thoughtful approach to what might show or fall over,” she said.

Assoulin was reluctant to share specific inspirations for the collection, but noted, “the home is a very interesting place for me. Domestic life feels very rich: What are the things we’re surrounding ourselves with, wanting to surround ourselves with? It feels like a philosophy for us,” she said. But don’t expect future collections overflowing with house dresses. “Now that I say it out loud, we want to break it.”
