The “wildlife warrior”, one of the presenters for the evening, was seen chatting with the future King of England on the green carpet ahead of the award show.
Fellow Aussie, actress Cate Blanchett, was also in attendance, stunning in an embroidered gold suit.
Other A-listers who attended were Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham and This Is Us actor Sterling K Brown.
Taking to Instagram, Irwin shared a series of photos from the night of him and Buckey.
“What an unforgettable night presenting at the @earthshotprize awards in Singapore,” he began in the caption.
“Thank you to His Royal Highness Prince William for having @roriebuckey and I, and a big thanks to the incredible team, fellow presenters and hosts.
“A night of hope for the future of our environment ❤️💚.”
Meanwhile, Buckey shared a selfie from before the event, writing, “I love doing life with you”.
Her boyfriend was quick to respond: “I love you Rorie”.
On Monday, Prince William took to Singapore’s waters for a morning of dragon boating – paddling with athletes from the British Dragons club on the Kallang River.
Working in pairs, William and the other 19 paddlers rowed vigorously to the steady beat of a drummer standing in the bow.
His boat triumphed in a brief race with another boat captained by British High Commissioner Kara Owen.
The 2023 Earthshot Prize Awards marked the first time Prince William’s wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, missed the event.
William founded the initiative in 2020 to promote impactful approaches to the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.
In a speech ahead of the ceremony, he said Kate was absent to remain home and focus on their three children, in particular their oldest Prince George, 10.
“Catherine is very sorry she can’t be here,” he said.
“She is helping George through his first set of major exams.”
The palace had previously confirmed that Princess Kate would not be in attendance.
The Earthshot Prize, which was launched in 2020 and which will run for 10 years, aims to promote environmental innovations.
