RNC Speakers Highlight Trump’s Golf Skills On Final Night

If there’s one thing Donald Trump seems to want America to take away from the last night of the Republican National Convention, it’s that he’s a great golf player.

During the GOP convention on Thursday in Milwaukee, speakers included John Nieporte, the head golf pro at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida; Trump’s attorney Alina Habba; and others who talked up Trump’s golf game.

“At our club championship in March, I watched President Trump hit a perfect 210-yard 4-iron to within 10 feet of the hole,” Nieporte said about his boss. “He needed to sink that putt to win. Do you think he sunk it? You better believe he sunk that putt.”

Habba told the crowd that the former president has “one heck of a golf swing.”

“He can kick some of those guys’ butts,” she said, emphasizing how Trump could compete with professional golfers.

In accordance with the theme, others managed to squeeze in comments about Trump’s love for golf during their speeches.

Similarly, Trump’s 17-year-old granddaughter Kai Trump spoke Wednesday at the RNC and shared how she and Trump would play golf together, and he would frequently call her to talk about his golf games and ask about hers.

Kellyanne Conway, a former counselor to Trump, also sprinkled in a remark Wednesday about Trump’s love for golfing.

“Donald Trump could be the envy of former presidents,” Conway said. “He’s a billionaire who could play golf every day. He could enjoy a magnificent life.”

“He does not need to do this, but we need him to do this,” she continued, referring to his bid for the presidency.

The string of boasts about Trump’s golfing comes nearly a month after the first presidential debate of this election cycle, during which Trump and Biden went back and forth bickering about their golf abilities.
