Rebecca Hall and Morgan Spector Didn’t Mean to Match at the 2024 SAG Awards

Morgan Spector and Rebecca Hall cut stunning figures on the red carpet, and their custom looks at the 2024 SAG Awards definitely aided their power couple designation. Spector, who is on the receiving end of a lot of public thirst thanks to his role on The Gilded Age, wore custom Fforme with a Bucherer watch, while Hall—a multi-talented actor, filmmaker, and painter—accessorized her custom Gabriela Hearst with glittering Reza jewelry. A visual artist and a longtime fan of Hearst, Hall felt a strong pull toward the onyx mosaic column dress. “This was such an unusual and modern piece I was immediately drawn to it,” she says. “So much of her work is inspired by visual art it often sets it apart from other red carpet looks.”

While both halves of the couple landed on sleek black looks for the awards ceremony, they insist it wasn’t coordinated. In fact, as Hall says, they actively try to avoid looking matchy-matchy. “We try not to accidentally be too coordinated if anything,” she says. “[It] can be this weird unconscious habit of couples that without thinking they put on the same outfit. Fine for a school run, less so for a red carpet.”

The pair looked forward to celebrating together, and with their peers, following an arduous strike. Even though Spector was hopped up on cold medicine, nothing could stop them from having a great night. “We’re going to enjoy being with old friends and have some fun,” Hall says.

Do the seasoned red carpet pros have any takeaways when it comes to awards shows? “Remembering to eat,” Hall says. “Being hangry on the carpet is never chic.”
