Queen Victoria statue defaced with red paint in Sydney just hours before King Charles and Camilla go on meet and greet

A statue of Queen Victoria has been defaced with red paint just hours before King Charles and Queen Camilla will go on a meet and greet with the public in Sydney.

A number of police were seen outside the Queen Victoria Building in the city’s CBD after red paint was thrown across the base of the statue in an apparent protest against the royals.

Charles and Camilla are set to do a meet and greet with the public about 4.20pm Tuesday at the forecourt of Sydney Opera House, a few blocks away from the defaced statute.
