PS Plus February 2024 free PS4 and PS5 games delay – Fans face longer wait for full reveal | Gaming | Entertainment

PlayStation Plus subscribers will have to wait another whole week to find out the full list of free PS4 and PS5 Essentials for February 2024. It was recently revealed that colourful action game Foamstars will be given away to PS Plus subscribers in February. However, the identity of the other two games won’t be revealed until 4.30pm GMT UK time on the afternoon of January 31. In more bad news, the games won’t be available to download and install until the following week, on the morning of February 6. While there’s a chance the games could leak ahead of schedule, it looks like fans will have to wait longer than usual to find out what will be joining Foamstars.

Foamstars is a 4-vs-4 party game with three multiplayer modes, as well as solo missions and lots of customisation.

Multiplayer modes include Smash The Star, Happy Bath Survival and the newly announced Rubber Duck Party.

The Rubber Duck Party mode sees teams fight for possession of a rubber duck found in the centre of the map. Climbing on the duck advances it towards your team’s goal, while dancing on its head makes it go faster.

“Players will need to utilise teamwork to foam the battlefield allowing for quicker traversal of the large map and to defend the rubber duck from the opposition’s control.

“With no respawn limit in this game mode, players can focus on the objective to make big plays.”

The PS Plus delay does have its benefits, as it gives fans extra time to pick up the free PS4 and PS5 games for January 2024.

Available until the morning of February 6, the January line-up includes the excellent Plague Tale Requiem, as well as Evil West and Nobody Saves the World.

A sequel to the original Plague Tale, Requiem sees Amicia and Hugo travel to new regions following the destruction of their homeland.

Evil West, meanwhile, is an action adventure game set in a fantasy version of the Wild West.

“A dark menace consumes the American frontier,” reads the official description. “As one of the last agents in a top secret vampire-hunting institute, you are the final line between humanity and a deep-rooted terror that now emerges from the shadows.”
