For jewellery, the South African-born royal wore a pair of chunky diamond studs, but it was her rarely seen engagement ring which stole everyone’s attention.
The stunning piece, which once belonged to Grace Kelly, features an enormous three-carat diamond which is pear-cut and nestled between clusters of extra glistening stones in triangle arrangements.
Pear-cut diamonds are known for their timeless qualities and according to jewellery experts, due to the stones distinctive cut, they are believed to represent empowerment, individuality, and independence.
Charlene’s sparkler was created by Parisian jeweller Repossi and is estimated to be worth £54,000.
She wore it regularly until 2017 but it has since made very few appearances.
The Monégasque royal has never shared why she rarely wears her stunning engagement ring. However, experts have pinpointed various factors.
Maxwell Stone, of jewellers Steven Stone, said: “Princess Charlene of Monaco’s show-stopping engagement ring features a massive three-carat, pear-cut diamond flanked by smaller diamonds in triangle arrangements.
“Because of their distinct and unmistakable cut, pear-shaped engagement rings are believed to represent empowerment, individuality, and independence.
“It may come as a surprise to hear that the Princess rarely wears her sparkler, but this could be for a range of reasons – from discomfort as a result of its sizeable centre stone, to concern about damaging it. [Princess Kate] for example typically removes her engagement ring whenever she is taking part in physical activities and sports.
“I’d estimate Princess Charlene’s ring to be worth £54,000.”
