Prince William dons £525 outfit to visit Dartmoor – but some fans claim it’s ‘too boring’

Prince William, 41, visited Wistman’s Wood on Dartmoor following the Duchy of Cornwall announcing its plans to regenerate and expand the woodland, doubling its size by 2040.

For this outing, William wore a very expensive outfit as he walked through Wistman’s Wood.

The Prince wore his Luca Faloni “Pure Cashmere Polo sweater in Midnight blue”, which costs a whopping £295.

The description says: “This jumper is knitted in Bergamo, Northern Italy, with 100 percent two-ply pure cashmere from the prestigious Cariaggi Fine Yarns Collection.

“Fitted, yet comfortable. Luxuriously soft, with a weight of circa 300 gr.

“This versatile jumper is a smart choice for business casual looks with chinos and a shirt, and perfect for your free time paired with jeans.

“Given the insulating property of cashmere, you can wear it from autumn to spring.”

William paired the expensive jumper with a Beretta Lifestyle “Men’s Tri-Active Evo Jacket in Brown Bark” which costs a further £230.64.

The Prince’s jacket’s description reads: “The Beretta Tri-Active Evo Jacket is a men’s hunting jacket designed for hiding hunting or stalking outdoors.

“Waterproof and breathable this jacket has been designed with stretchy panels for great maximum freedom of movement when on the move.

“The outer of this Tri-Active jacket has been treated with a DWR finish to keep you protected no matter the weather.”

Overall, William’s outfit costs at least £525.64, not taking into account the price of his hat, his trousers, his shirt or his shoes.

Instagram user @jenni_mamawee was quite critical of William’s style and wrote: “He’s too boring.” Twitter user @Nicole10394196 added: “It’s giving bland and boring.”

However, @coxandcrozier commented: “Love this country look on the Prince and agree that at heart the Prince and Princess of Wales are country loving people.”

The Duchy of Cornwall, which is owned by the Prince of Wales, has been working with its agricultural tenants, Natural England and consulting with the Dartmoor National Park Authority for over two years.

This is to develop a landscape scale plan to expand Wistman’s Wood to bring about its increased resilience.

Wistman’s Wood is an ancient oak woodland which covers over three hectares of the West Dart Valley on Dartmoor, Devon. It is often referred to as one of the South West’s last remaining examples of temperate rainforest.
