power grid: Power Grid Q1 Results: Standalone profit falls 4% YoY to Rs 3,412 crore, revenue down 2%

Power Grid on Friday reported a standalone net profit of Rs 3,412 crore in the first quarter ended June 2024. This is a fall of 4% from Rs 3,542 crore posted in the same quarter last year.

Revenue from operations during the same period declined 2% year-on-year to Rs 10,068 crore as against Rs 10245 crore in the corresponding period of previous year.

On a consolidated basis, Power Grid reported a profit of Rs 3,724 crore, which is up 4% year-on-year, while consolidated revenue from operations rose marginally by 0.4% to Rs 11,006 crore.

Consolidated EBITDA for the first quarter fell 0.8% to Rs 9,602 crore and margins declined 40 basis points to 87.2%.

Total expenses during the first quarter were slightly up at Rs 6552 crore, compared with Rs 6,507 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.Segment wise, revenue from the transmission segment stood at Rs 10,053 crore in the reporting quarter as against Rs 10,200 crore in the previous year quarter.Meanwhile, revenue from the consultancy business increased 23% year-on-year to Rs 153 crore. It was Rs 124 crore a year ago.The debt to equity ratio for the June 2024 quarter stood at 1.37x, compared with 1.42x in the preceding March quarter and 1.43x in the June 2023 quarter.

On Friday, Power Grid shares closed 1.49% higher at Rs 344.50 on NSE.
