Perricone MD’s new hydrating gel mask plumps dry skin in 15 minutes

Perricone MD has launched a new face mask that is so moisturising that fans are adding it to their summer skincare routine. The Cold Plasma Plus+ The Intensive Gel Mask is hailed as an ultra-hydrating, multi-tasking powerhouse to deliver intense moisture into your skin while giving you a cooling sensation.

As a member of the Cold Plasma Plus+ family, the formula features Omega 3, 6, and 9 to visibly plump and increase radiance; vitamin C ester to smooth, brighten and minimise the look of discolouration over time; and copper tripeptides to repair dry skin. It’s retailed at £82 for 59ml and it’s available at Perricone MD website and LookFantastic.

What sets this gel mask apart is its innovative formulation. Designed to mimic the skin’s natural barrier, it effectively locks in moisture and delivers active ingredients deep into the epidermis, ensuring maximum absorption and efficacy.

One shopper described the mask as a “drink of water” for her irritated skin and another loved the cooling sensation on her skin, adding: “As I relax and allow the mask to work its magic, I feel a sense of calm and rejuvenation wash over me, making it the perfect addition to my self-care routine.”

A third shared: “This is the first mask I’ve used that significantly and deeply moisturised my skin. I’ve used other products that felt moisturizing while on, and perhaps for a few hours after. But this mask felt like it took away the tightness and penetrated the deeper layers of the skin. The mask doesn’t feel like anything when you have it on.”

Shoppers are recommended to use this on dry, clean face and take a “liberal amount” of the produt and massage until the formula is even distributed over the face and neck. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.

As Perricone MD described on the website its “proprietary liquid crystal delivery system” allows effective absorption of key ingredients into the skin’s surface.

If you don’t wish to use it all over the face and neck, you can use it as a topical application to help improve the look of wrinkles and sagging skin, which are caused by collagen depletion.

Some customers were disappointed after the purchase, with one sharing: “It does not make my skin feel tight, dry, or irritated while on or after washing. As far as benefits, I haven’t noticed any after using it. My skin looks and feels the same.”

“My skin did feel slightly moisturised after but not ‘ultra-hydrating’ and did not deliver an ‘instant boost of powerful hydration’. Based on my experience I cannot justify the cost of this mask due to the little hydration and benefits I received. I believe there are better products out there in this price range,” a second commented.

Korean beauty Laneige’s Bouncy and Firm Sleeping Mask, £32, is also highly rated by fans, the peony-collagen complex works to hydrate the skin, restore elasticity and protect the skin from damage. Viewers said they woke up with glowing skin and fewer fine lines.

For sheet mask lovers, 111Skin’s hydrogel masks are both cooling and revitalising, the Cryo De-puffing Gel Mask tackles concerns of puffing and swelling issues and it’s effective to use in the morning if you suffer from puffy eyes. It’s £20 for one but it’s cheaper when you subscribe, with plans available for once a month, every two months, every three months to every six months.
