One of Samsung’s best gaming monitors sees its price slashed

Price of gaming monitors have been plummetting recently which is perfect for gamers who have been waiting for the right price – and Amazon has cut the price of this popular Samsung OLED monitor.

This 49-inch Samsung Odyssey G9 OLED monitor has seen its price dip from a staggering £1,399 to £805 in a limited time Amazon deal – and despite its big price tag, it’s still a sensational price.

It’s not going to be for everyone though because this is a big monitor at 49 inches but perfect for PC gamers who have been on the lookout for the most immersive monitors on the market.

It comes with a 1440p resolution, 240hz screen for the smoothest gameplay experience and an OLED screen so all those colours are picture perfect and sharp. There’s also built-in speakers so you get a lot of monitor for your money.

You can also enjoy fast-action and complex game scenes stutter-free with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to power your competitive edge and a hair-raising 0.03ms response time means you don’t need to worry about delay.

Reviewers have also loved the monitor, especially for people who enjoy racing sims. One reviewer said: “The image quality is fantastic and the 1000 curve helps to create an amazingly involved sensation. I played ‘X4’ (a space opera) in a darkened room, headphones on and it genuinely changed the entire atmosphere in the game.”

However some people have complained about the software with the monitor. One reviewer added: “The Software is just awful. The monitor has smart TV features, which actively get in the way of using this as a monitor. Adding sources takes a millionty clicks through unintuitive UI, and struggles to even acknowledge that new sources exist.”

If you are looking for an alternative, there’s also other deals going on right now. Dell has cut the price of this premium OLED monitor on its website for under £650 if you don’t like the ultrawide aspect of the Samsung.
