On Tour With Indie Pop Star—And New Chanel Ambassador—Gracie Abrams

Next up was the customary sound check with her band. “Pre-show, the most important thing that I do are vocal warm-ups,” says Abrams, who jammed out to a few songs with her band. At this point in her career, she says, touring and all of its idiosyncrasies is a lifestyle. “Since starting touring a few years ago, that’s how I mark time now, instead of months or seasons,” she says.

With the countdown to her show ticking down, Abrams headed to her dressing room for a quick fitting with stylist Spencer Singer. The duo ended up choosing an elegant Chanel dress featuring a plunging neckline and seersucker, floral, and sequin detailing. “I like to wear whatever makes me feel the most in my skin,” says Abrams, who is a new brand ambassador for Chanel Coco Crush. “I like feeling like I can move and breathe. The look for tonight is glamorous; [We wanted] something that would shine in the light at Radio City.” Post-glam, it was then finally time to hit the stage—where Abrams performed hits such as “Close To You” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry” to crowds of adoring fans.
