“I’ve been obsessed with Pesto ever since he came onto the scene on TikTok,” she said of the viral nine-month-old penguin who is 90cm tall and towers over his parents.

“And I thought, I’m curious I wonder if I’m touring in the city that he is and miraculously I was and I went to Sea Life in Melbourne and got to meet him.

“Had a great time, he was so cute, he’s a teenager now so he’s feeling a little angsty, a little shy sometimes but I understood.

“It was a great day.”

The Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium resident is just nine months old but weighs 22.5kg — more than twice the weight of his parents.
