Off-White Is Now The Official Style And Culture Curator Of The New York Liberty

Though Off-White has long sat at the intersection of sports and fashion—with athletes filling the house’s front rows at shows in Milan, Paris, and New York; the masses clamoring for Off-White Nikes; and athletic-inspired pieces being a hallmark of the brand—perhaps the spring 2025 show, held on the basketball courts at Brooklyn Bridge Park, was both true to the brand’s DNA and a bit of foreshadowing: Today, Off-White becomes the official style and culture curator of the WNBA’s New York Liberty.

“With the Liberty being based in New York—a hotbed of creativity and eccentricity where art, fashion, and sports intersect—our team has been able to differentiate itself by marrying sport with fashion in ways that transcend the basketball court,” New York Liberty CEO Keia Clarke tells Vogue exclusively. “We’ve spent time evolving our approach to fashion and apparel, and partnering with Off-White to create more unique engagement opportunities to reach both women’s sports fans and those interested in fashion was an opportunity that felt natural.”

The multi-year collaboration kicks off with a varsity jacket, which star Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu gifted her teammates last night after the team’s final regular season game. The team will officially debut the jackets this Sunday, September 22 ahead of their first playoff game. A limited number will be available for pre-order and customization at Barclays Center, the Liberty’s home court, during select playoff games.

“Fashion fosters connection between the fans and the players, generating interest in what players are wearing, their creative self-expression, and who they are as individuals beyond the uniforms they wear on the court,” Clarke says. “The player arrival tunnel is a space brimming with individuality with many on our roster like Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Jonquel Jones, and Betnjiah Laney-Hamilton, among others–leaning into it.”
