Spooky season is here, so expect a fair few new scary thrillers beamed straight to your telly this month. If a darker tone isn’t for you, don’t worry there are plenty of lighter TV shows and films coming out too.

Here’s a look at what’s in store this October.

Catch the new British dark comedy-drama starring Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets, Fallout) as Rhiannon Lewis. Bored with her life and feeling invisible to the world around her Rhiannon is finally pushed to her limit.

When Rhiannon loses control, everyone who has spurned her, from Donna in the minimarket to her boss Norman at work falls in the firing line. Will the invisible girl be able to get away with murder?

Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band — documentary premiere (Disney Plus) Streaming October 30

This documentary tracks the story of “The Boss” Bruce Springsteen and his band The E Street Band through countless live performances, backstage moments and rehearsals including moments from their 2023-2024 world tour.

Featuring conversations with Springsteen himself the documentary follows closely as he develops the tour’s setlist.

The Office — series premiere (Prime Video) Streaming October 18

The hit mockumentary is back with an all-new Australian flavour. Hannah Howard (Felicity Ward) is the managing director of the packaging company Flinley Craddick. When Head Office lets her know they’ll be shutting the branch down and getting everyone to work remotely Hannah begins to do anything she can to keep the “work family” altogether.

With the rest of the staff forced to go along with Hannah’s schemes, they’ll no doubt end up in a fair amount of hilarious situations.

Edith Poor, Steen Raskopoulos, Josh Thomson, Shari Sebbens, Kieran Egan, Jack Dutson, Cassie McInnes and Zoe Terakes also star.

This supernatural psychological thriller stars Billy Crystal as Eli, a child psychiatrist who encounters a troubled young boy, Noah (Jacobi Jupe) after the recent loss of his wife, Lynn (Judith Light).

With Noah mysteriously connected to Eli’s past, Eli bonds with Noah while trying to uncover the secrets of the past.

Don’t Move — film premiere (Netflix) Streaming October 25

Produced by the legendary Sam Raimi, Netflix’s new thriller Don’t Move will have viewers on the edge of their seats. A grieving young woman hopes to find solace in the forests of Big Sur, California. There a she encounters a stranger who injects her with a paralytic agent.

With 20 minutes before the agent completely shuts down her body she must run, hide and fight to make it out alive.
