Security footage (which you can see in the video above) shows the moment the 50-year-old was confronted by officers after bar staff called police at around 11pm.

He was arrested and charged with five offences, including common assault, intimidation and offensive behaviour.

“He started getting aggressive with customers and the staff, coming from downstairs to upstairs. Police were called because he wouldn’t leave when he was asked to leave,” Pappy’s Bar’s Olivia Seal said, before adding Sailor will “definitely not” be welcome back again.

Seven News understands no one was seriously injured. He was granted conditional bail to face court later this month.

Sailor played 189 NRL games for the Broncos between 1993 and 2001 that included three premierships.

He then switched to rugby where he featured in 37 Tests for the Wallabies, including the 2003 World Cup final loss to England.

Sailor returned to the NRL to play two seasons with the Dragons before hanging up the boots for good at the end of 2009.

Post footy career, Sailor has been a regular in the media on TV and radio.

But his radio commitments came to an abrupt end in July when he announced his immediate retirement from his commentary role on Triple M, after previously revealing plans to step back at the end of the season.

He had been a popular member on the radio station’s commentary team since 2015 and also features on their afternoon Rush Hour show.

“My primary focus now is dedicating more time to my children and pursuing grassroots interests,” Sailor said in a statement.

“I am deeply grateful for SCA’s understanding and support of my decision. Balancing my career with family life is my priority, particularly as I celebrate my 50th birthday this week.

“Triple M has been an integral part of my professional journey. I have forged lifelong friendships and cherished every moment commenting on NRL matches and hosting The Rush Hour.

“I am thankful for the encouragement I have received and am eager for my next chapter, to concentrate on family, as well as interests such as golf and corporate opportunities.”

Sailor has two children with wife Tara, son and current Broncos fullback Tristan, and daughter Matisse — both now in their 20s.
