North Carolina Republican Won’t Autograph Her Tweet Calling For Obama’s Death

North Carolina’s Republican nominee for superintendent of public instruction had mixed reactions about being asked for an autograph.

At first, Michele Morrow seemed honored by the request, as seen in a video shared online Thursday by political comedy duo The Good Liars.

But her reaction quickly changed when she realized what she was being asked to sign.

It turns out that Morrow didn’t want to autograph a 2020 post from Twitter, the platform now known as X, in which she allegedly used the hashtag #DeathToTraitors alongside the names of former President Barack Obama, Democrat Hillary Clinton, former FBI director James Comey and others.

For some inexplicable reason, Morrow also didn’t want to sign a tweet in which she appeared to call for Obama to die by firing squad on pay-per-view.

The exchange began normally enough, with Good Liars member Jason Selvig asking for Morrow’s autograph.

“Oh, you’re so kind,” Morrow said.

Selvig then explained what he wanted her to sign.

“This is one of your tweets,” Selvig told Morrow, handing her paper showing the tweet about Clinton, Comey and others. ”And then it says ‘DeathToTraitors’ on there.”

Suddenly, Morrow had a change of heart.

“Yeah, yeah, I do mind signing it for you,” she said, and started to walk away.

Selvig then asked, “Will you sign this other one about killing Obama on pay-per-view?” only to be ignored by Morrow.

“Will you sign the tweet where you said a firing squad for Obama, a pay-per-view death?” Selvig asked. “Michele, will you sign it?”

Speaking to the camera, the comedian then said, “Well, she tweeted it, that she wanted Obama to be killed by a firing squad on pay-per-view, but she wouldn’t sign the tweet.”

On X, Selvig also shared screenshots of the posts he wanted Morrow to autograph.

HuffPost reached out to Morrow for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.

Morrow — known for espousing conspiracy theories and for appearing outside the U.S. Capitol on the day of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot, which she’s said she didn’t take part in — has previously described the tweet about executing Obama as a joke.

When CNN asked about some of her controversial posts earlier this year, she told the network that “Everyone is so done with the ‘gotcha’ moment.”

Lots of people on X seemed to disagree with this notion, based on their responses to the Good Liars video.

One person wondered why Morrow wasn’t willing to stand by her alleged statements.

. @MicheleMorrowNC why didn’t you want to sign your work calling for the execution of fellow citizens?

Seems like something you’d want to stand behind if you said it.

If you are running away from a person asking questions about things you yourself tweeted, you are doing something very wrong.

She seemed so proud of herself until it came time to face her own words.
