At least nine people have died and 25 others injured in a bus crash in Colombia’s northern department of Santander, authorities say.
Colombia’s civil protection agency reported the crash happened near the town of El Playon, about 340 kilometres north of Bogota.
Santander’s disaster agency put the death toll at 10, adding that “around 30 people” were injured.

The Expreso Brasilia bus fell down a slope on near the town of El Playon on Saturday.
The bus operator said in a statement the cause of the crash was initially unknown and was under investigation.
The bus was travelling north from the town of Cucuta on the border with Venezuela to Valledupar near Colombia’s northern coast.
Local media cited El Playon mayor Wilmer Barrios as saying the passengers were Venezuelan migrants aiming to get to the United States, some 5000 kilometres away.
