Former Australian cricket star Stuart MacGill has been released on bail after he was charged for allegedly taking part in a cocaine deal worth more than $300,000.
The Robbery and Serious Crime Squad arrested MacGill on Tuesday and charged the 52-year-old before releasing the former spin bowler.
A NSW Communities and Justice spokesman has confirmed that he was charged with one count of taking part in the supply of a large commercial quantity of cocaine.

MacGill will face the Manly Local Court on October 26.
Police will allege that in 2019 MacGill facilitated a cocaine deal where one person agreed to selling 1kg of the drug to another for $330,000.
As part of the alleged deal, police will also allege that MacGill had a $1000 drug debt wiped for his part in organising the $330,000 deal.
MacGill made headlines in April 2021 when he was allegedly kidnapped, stripped, and bashed by three masked assailants.
It was alleged he was forced into a car at Cremorne on Sydney’s north shore before being taken to a remote two-hectare property in Bringelly.
MacGill previously told police he was kept in a shack and his alleged kidnappers threatened to cut off his fingers if he didn’t give them $150,000.
If found guilty of his latest charges, MacGill could spend the rest of his life in prison.
Perth-born MacGill played 44 Tests for Australia, taking 208 wickets at 29.02.
His international career was muted, having run concurrently with Shane Warne – the world’s undisputed leading leg spinner.
