It’s not summer without a slip dress and ballerina flats, according to Tiana Marcano.
What’s your essential summer purchase—and why do you love it?
Slip dresses—they just scream romantic elegance! I recommend dresses from Jacoba Jane—they glide effortlessly against the body. Every summer, I also like to get my hands on a Victoria’s Secret slip dress as a treat for myself.
What’s a beauty product that everybody should get their hands on—and why?
As a natural makeup girly in general, I go even more natural for the summer. I tend to opt out of mascara and really prep my face with a good serum, like Westman Atelier’s skin activator, before I apply Vital’s skin foundation stick in tan butterscotch and Merit’s shade slick tinted lip oil in taupe.
What’s a place you love to visit—and how do you spend your time there?
Èze, in the south of France—the medieval architecture, with its timeless beauty, and the unforgettable view of the Mediterranean is the perfect recipe for a tranquil getaway. I like to picture myself walking to Place de la Colette and browsing the artisanal goods in the village market, simply living in the present moment.
What’s the one summer shoe you can’t recommend enough?
Ballerina flats, ballerina flats, ballerina flats! It’s a classic timeless shoe that’s perfect for the summer. Repetto Cendrillon ballet flats in black and Loeffler Randall Leonie black satin ballet flats are my go-tos for a minimalist elegant style.
What’s one accessory you can’t do without—and why?
My shades—since I’m light-sensitive, they are a must-have for me, but they’re also a sure-fire way to add a bit of glam to your summer wardrobe. I own pairs from Versace and Tommy Hilfiger which enhance my face quite well (which can be a rarity with glasses).
