My Festive Style Guide: Eve Dawes

Throughout December, we’ll be shining a light on your festive style. Here’s how Vogue Club member Eve Dawes is spending the season—and what she’s gifting her closest friends…

1. What is your favorite festive ritual?

Children’s-toy drives: There are so many of them in Las Vegas, where I live—and sometimes I get to go into schools and help deliver the presents with Santa—it’s what I look forward to the most.

2. What’s the perfect gift to surprise your closest friend?

I have my own business, Dawes Custom Cosmetics, so I tend to gift them a custom lipstick experience at my lipstick lab—I like giving experiences, so we can create memories together, and we get to spend more time together!

3. What’s the best gift you have received in recent years?

Pretty much anything from Van Cleef & Arpels is on my wish list. They have some seriously swoon-worthy jewelry—their Alhambra collection is particularly iconic. (However, if Santa doesn’t have a budget this year, their Snowflake Necklace couldn’t be more appropriate for Christmas. Dear Santa…)

4. It’s not the festive season without a glamorous party: What item of clothing (or accessory) is sure to make you stand out from the crowd?

For me, it has to be shoes! As much as I love glam cocktail dresses, I tend to only wear them once, whereas a fab pair of shoes I can repeat all holiday long. I picked up some sparkly beauties at the Gucci store in Ibiza this summer—they always bring back vacation memories for me, too.

5. Lastly, what’s the one beauty item that speaks to your holiday season allure?

I’m not normally a red lipstick girl, but when it comes to holiday parties I’m all about a bold red lip: It makes me feel more confident and glam, and it goes with pretty much any color. Just don’t forget your lip liner to make sure it stays in place under the mistletoe…
