Elon Musk responded to former President Donald Trump’s return to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, by way of a post featuring his mug shot Thursday.
“Next-level,” Musk’s Thursday night post read.
Musk, the current owner of X, reinstated the former president’s Twitter account in November after it was banned in the wake of the Jan 6., 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Trump’s post of his mug shot on X, featuring the words “Election Interference!” and “Never Surrender!” along with a link to his website, marked the first time in over two years he has posted on the platform. The mug shot is a result of Trump surrendering to Fulton County, Ga., authorities Thursday in District Attorney Fani Willis’s case against him and 18 other co-defendants related to efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.
“They insisted on a mug shot, and I agreed to do that,” Trump told Fox News Digital in the wake of his surrender. “This is the only time I’ve ever taken a mug shot.”
“It is not a comfortable feeling — especially when you’ve done nothing wrong,” he added.
