Monique Wright’s hilarious Sam Mac ‘challenge’ live on-air

Sunrise fill-in host Monique Wright saw the perfect opportunity to “challenge” Sam Mac during one of his live weather crosses.

Reporting from a Tamborine Bay retreat, near the Gold Coast, the weather presenter was enjoying a face scrub made from local coffee beans.

With the scrub on Sam’s cheeks and nose, Mon stated how hilarious it would be if he left the product on his face for the remainder of the show, with no explanation to later viewers.

“What’s this going to do for my skin?” Sam asked staff member Tasha, as she applied the scrub.

“So it’s basically just gonna give you a nice little exfoliation,” she responded, adding there was also coconut oil in the product for moisturisation.

Sam then asked how long he had to leave it on, explaining he had other segments coming up.

“It’s up to you, you can leave it on all morning if you like,” Tasha explained.

Seeing an opportunity, Mon said: “Sam Mac here’s a challenge for you … I’d like you to keep that on for the rest of the morning but make no reference to it.”

“Done! That is my kind of challenge,” Sam said, smiling at the camera.

“It will slowly fall off but I love where your head’s at Mon.”

Later as Sam returned, with the scrub on his face, to deliver the next weather segment, Mon turned to fellow host Matt Shirvington and uttered: “So good.”

“Looking good, Sam,” Shirvo said as he subtly scratched his own face.
