Mola launches its first issue in London: a new platform and magazine for voices from the Global South

MOLA, a London-based new media platform and digital magazine, will launch its inaugural issue on July 17, 2024. This platform aims to diversify storytelling and cultural production by amplifying the voices of artists from the Global South and its diaspora.

Founded by Brazilian Creative Director Isabela Lima, MOLA is dedicated to creating a space for cross-cultural exchange through various formats, including an annual digital publication featuring commissioned works, exhibitions, and events. MOLA seeks to challenge and expand mainstream media narratives by encouraging collaborative works from talented artists, photographers, filmmakers, and writers, fostering meaningful connections, and placing the Global South at the heart of cultural dialogue.

The first digital issue will feature works from renowned photographers such as Mar+Vin (Brazil), River Claure (Bolivia), and Marcelo Mudou (Brazil), along with stylist Stephania Yepes (Colombia). Among them there are also twoPhotoVogue artists: Ana Margarita Flores (Peru) and Delali Ayivi (Togo). Highlights include an exclusive interview with Brazilian artist and legend Augusto de Campos, who also created MOLA’s visual identity, and an inspiring environmental piece by social scientist P. Momag.
