Mocka Octavia Coastal Cot recalled by ACCC over fears side rail may dislodge

A wooden cot sold nationwide has been urgently recalled over fears the side rail may dislodge and cause injury or death.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s Product Safety issued a recall notice for the Mocka Octavia Coastal Cot on Tuesday.

The recall states there is a risk the side rail “may dislodge from the base when it is positioned to the lowest setting or following movement or impact”.

“There is a risk of injury or death from suffocation if the side rail dislodges and a child is trapped between the rail and the base of the cot or if they fall out of the cot,” it adds.

The impacted items were from batch number 57191222, with the SKU T03736 and were available for sale from April 4 and November 22 last year.

Customers are advised to “stop using the cot immediately”.

Those impacted by the recall will be contacted by Mocka directly. Those who have not been contacted and have an affected cot should contact Mocka themselves to arrange a full refund or replacement product.

“You will be asked to safely dispose of the cot and provide evidence, such as a photo, of the disposal or destruction to receive your refund or replacement,” the ACCC said.
