MKR’s Mike and Pete have a moment of calm in the competition after being confirmed safe ahead of tonight’s eviction.
The Channel 7 show’s first-ever German team, married couple Robert and Andrea will deliver their instant restaurant in tonight’s episode, drawing an end to this season’s first two instant restaurant rounds.

Mike and Pete sit firmly in the middle, therefore free from going home.
Speaking on The Morning Show from Brisbane ahead of the final instant restaurant of round two, the pair said they were “quite happy to know that we’re safe and that we’re heading to headquarters ‘cause we’re middle of the road again”.
“We’re chuffed,” Pete said.
“We’re going through no matter what happens tonight.”
Reflecting back on the competition thus far, Mike described it as the “Hunger Games,” referring to the famous fantasy film and book series.
“It was quite intense,” Pete added of arriving at his first Instant Restaurant this season and interacting with other pairs.
“It can be pretty rough around the table, but it’s also pretty funny as well.”
Heading to the Kitchen HQ phase of the content, the duo said it is “pretty surreal”.
“It’s crazy, I think we’re all excited to be there, excited to not be travelling around Australia again and be doing our best,” Mike told the hosts.
Pete added: “It’s really intense that’s all I can say.”
Mike also spoke of reinventing himself between the two rounds of Instant Restaurants.
During round one, Mike was known to ruffle feathers and heavily critique the work of his competitors — until he and Pete tried hosting themselves.
The contestant quickly learned that it takes a lot to pull off a quality Instant Restaurant and so reinvented his personality into what he calls “Mike 2.0”.
“Well Mike 1.0 came in pretty hard, there was a bit of backlash, some trolling on Facebook and Instagram, which was OK,” Pete recalls.
“So Mike thought, ‘I need to change Mike’,” Pete said as both laughed.
“So, Mike, 2.0 was created.”
Currently, lovebirds Hannah and Lawrence are on the bottom of the leaderboard after their cook last Tuesday.
Whoever is on the bottom of the leaderboard after tonight’s final Instant Restaurant, Robert and Andrea, will be going home.
