A nervous-looking Armstrong, who is a dual Logie winner who began as a fill-in presenter in 2020 before starting a full-time role in 2021, faced the camera as he told viewers about his departure in September.

“I’ve been pretty nervous about doing this,” Armstrong said.

“You can see my body language already. Um, I’ve retired from News Brekkie and my last day will be the 4th of October. So, that’s not this Friday — the coming Friday.”

Anchor Lisa Millar also left the show in August after five years.
