Meghan Markle’s marriage to ‘lonely Harry’ will last ‘years not decades’, expert predicts

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage will be over in a matter of years, not decades, according to one royal expert.

Canadian journalist Graydon Carter, the former editor of Vanity Fair, didn’t mince words in a recent interview with The Times.

“I would measure the duration of the marriage in years rather than decades,” he said.

“I think she has run rings around poor Harry and gotten what she wanted – notoriety, money and a title.

“His usefulness to her diminishes daily,” he added bluntly.

Carter also doubted reports suggesting Meghan might return to an acting career – unless appearing in a reality TV show counted.

“If there is a Real Housewives of Montecito show in the works, she’d be a shoo-in,” he quipped.

Carter’s bold prediction comes just days after long-time royal correspondent Phil Dampier told GB News that Prince Harry was feeling “lonely” and isolated in the US.

“I’m told on good authority that he’s quite lonely. He’s quite isolated in California,” Dampier said.

“Maybe that’s part of Meghan’s plan to isolate him from his friends as well as his family.

“I just don’t feel that he’s got a group of mates to go out and have a few beers with and unwind and relax, and talk about matey men things that we all like to do down the pub.”

Whilst Carter believes Meghan would not be interested in a return to film or TV acting, other royal watchers have a different opinion.

Reports recently emerged in the US media that Meghan was keen to join the cast of Kevin Costner’s ambitious four-film project, Horizon: An American Saga, which is only halfway through filming.

Meghan and Harry recently visited Costner’s lavish California estate for a charity event raising money for first responders, but an insider told Radar Online that the former Suits star may have had other subjects of conversation in mind.

“Meghan is using the unbelievable new success of her long-cancelled series Suits, which is undergoing a revival on streaming, to convince Kevin she’s the key to his future success — and he’s listening,” the source said.

The insider claimed that Meghan was “pulling out all the stops” to convince Costner that she’s the right for the lead female role, as she believes “it will cement her Hollywood comeback in spectacular fashion”.

“It’s the kind of part that could cement her status as a serious actress,” the source added.

“Meghan desperately wants a role in Horizon, because it’s scheduled to shoot another two parts after this production wraps.”

The return to acting chatter ramped after a series of disappointing ventures since Meghan and Harry moved from the UK to the US.

Meghan’s Archetypes podcast failed to gain much traction, while a Netflix documentary about Harry and Meghan’s exit from the bosom of the royal family seemed to attract more critics than supporters.

The Radar source said Costner had not ruled out the idea of casting Meghan in his project.

“He wants this to be his biggest success ever and has all his chips in on it,” they said.

“He knows how much attention she’ll draw and is banking on her bringing more eyeballs to the project, just as she did with Suits.”
