Margot Robbie is establishing some work-life balance in 2024. While the actor is back on the Barbie train for the awards circuit, she’s ditching the pink and sparkles off-duty.
Robbie, apparently a proponent of the Big Shirt Big Pants school of dressing, opted for a comfy, oversized look on Monday, a far cry from some of her bodycon Barbie press looks. The actor wore a red and white striped cotton poplin button up and baggy medium wash jeans that pooled around her ankles. In keeping with the roomy, boyish feel, she added a pair of chunky white sneakers. She kept her accessories simple with a black crossbody slung over her shoulder, a pair of aviators, and gold hoop earrings.
Since Robbie has been in Barbieland for so long, catching glimpses of her personal style feels like spotting the white whale. Who will she be without all that pink? It seems that she enjoys playing with suiting and mixing masculine elements into her wardrobe, which, after the ultra-femme Barbie, is more than fair. Last September she took a three-piece Mango suit for a spin, and paired black trousers with a cropped graphic tee in November. She is also staying true to her love of a chunky shoe: late last year she rocked the Givenchy marshmallow sandals and neon green platform Crocs.
While we still aren’t sure what Margot Robbie will wear after the Oscars, we can’t wait to see her personal, post-Barbie style take center stage.
