A man has died in a two-vehicle collision on a highway in the Central West of New South Wales.
Police say two vehicles driving in opposite directions collided on the Castlereagh Hwy, Caerleon, about 5km northwest of Mudgee on Monday morning.
Police and a motorist passing by attended to one of the drivers, a man believed to be aged in his 80s, however he died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.
The other driver, a 22-year-old woman, was treated at the scene for back injuries and was taken to hospital for further treatment.
“Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit,” NSW Police said.
“An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.”
Castlereagh Hwy is closed in both directions and is expected to remain closed for a number of hours.
Traffic diversions are in place.
