Man dies in multi-vehicle crash on Pennant Hill Rd in North Sydney

A serious multi-vehicle crash has closed a section of a major North Sydney road.

A car collided with the motorcycle and two other vehicles about 11.45am on Pennant Hills Rd at Normanhurst Rd in Normanhurst on Tuesday.

The car and motorcycle then crashed into a nearby house and caught fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Police are currently on scene and the fire has been extinguished.

The male motorcycle driver, believed to be in his 60s, died at the scene.

He has yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the car, a 36-year-old man, was taken to Hornsby Hospital for mandatory testing.

No information has been provided about the condition of the people in the other vehicles involved.

A crime scene has been established.

Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact police.

Pennant Hills Rd is closed in both directions between Mount Pleasant Ave and Buckingham Ave, with heavy traffic in both directions.

Local buses will also divert away from Pennant Hills Rd, missing stops.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
