He was then taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A 22-year-old man was winched unresponsive from the water by the Life Saver helicopter about 5.15pm.

“Paramedics and an onboard doctor from the TOLL helicopter administered CPR to the man, before he was transported to Northern Beaches Hospital in a critical condition,” police said.

“About 12.20pm on Friday 11 August 2023, the 22-year-old man died at hospital.”
