Man charged with sex assault allegedly removed ankle monitor

Police are on the hunt for a 29-year-old Toronto man who allegedly removed his ankle bracelet after being charged with sexual assault and criminal harassment.

Toronto Police said between April 28 and May 9, a man approached and engaged a victim in conversation, then allegedly followed her on the walking trails at Earl Bales Park. He also allegedly waited for the victim outside of a public washroom before continuing to follow and run after her several times.

The man and the victim were not known to each other.

The same man is also accused of following a woman into a public washroom at the Barbara Frum public library, in the Lawrence Ave. W.-Bathurst St. area, on June 12 before allegedly sexually assaulting her.

A staff member was able to assist the victim and take her to a safe place before the man fled from the scene.

The accused and the victim were also not known to each other.

The accused was released from custody under the condition that he wear an ankle monitoring device. But police said he allegedly removed the ankle bracelet on Wednesday at 9 p.m. in the Lawrence-Allen Rd. area.

Arnold Edzodzomo is wanted on two counts of failing to comply with a release order. He is described as having a thin build and short black hair and frequents Earl Bales Park, Barbara Frum library and the Bathurst-Lawrence and Yonge St.-Sheppard Ave. areas.
