Man, 38, accused of trying to grab child in East York

Toronto Police say officers responded to a “suspicious incident” in the area of Taylor Creek Park and Lumsden Ave. – east of Woodbine Ave. – on July 11.

A man approached an adult caregiver and a minor around 4 p.m. and allegedly attempted to grab the minor, police say.

But the caregiver pulled the minor away from the man.

Police nobody was injured and the man fled the area.

Investigators released an image of a suspect to the public on Friday and they subsequently identified the man.

Arunraj Perinparajah, of Toronto, was arrested Friday evening and charged with one count of assault.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 9, 2024.
