Man, 33, accused of murder in deadly downtown stabbing

A man faces a murder charge following a stabbing inside a downtown apartment early Thursday.

Toronto Police said officers responded to a call for a stabbing in the Fort York Blvd. and Dan Leckie Way area, near Bathurst St. and Lake Shore Blvd. W., around 12:45 a.m.

Police allege two men got into an argument inside an apartment and stabbed each other.

Medics performed life-saving measures on both men and they were transported to hospital, cops said.

Unfortunately, one man died of his injuries in hospital. The other man remains in hospital.

Police identified the victim as Sean Collins, 34, of Toronto.

Brian Kelneric, 33, of Toronto has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Cops said the accused appeared remotely in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Friday.
