Lynn Loves Jewelry: August Baubles That Delve Into the Blue

I have never made a secret of two things: my love of jewelry and my love of politics. So you can only imagine my excitement with the incredible twists and turns of the last three weeks, culminating in the convention in Chicago. And those Zooms—Cat Ladies for Kamala! White dudes for Harris! Republicans for Harris! When are we going to have Jewelry Lovers for Harris?

Ok, so maybe I am a constituency of one. No matter, I have stood alone before, dreaming of dazzling jewels even as I walked a picket line. Because why shouldn’t you try to look as lovely as possible while you fight for justice and human rights? Don’t we want everyone to earn more than just a living wage, so they can have beautiful things?

In honor of our current tumultuous political landscape, this month’s jewels are uniformly blue, blue, blue—whether gleaming with lapis, or sparkling with sapphires, or glowing with deep enamel.

And because it is Brat Summer—wasn’t it wonderful that Charlie XCX was the first one at the box, declaring “Kamala is Brat” just a few days after Harris took center stage—there is also a sprinkle of gems evoking Brat’s trademark green. (Believe it or not, this noxious shade is quite close to August’s peridot birthstone.)

So Vote Blue with these jewels, or drape yourself in Brat green—there are 70-odd days to the election!
