If you’re not getting your steps in, don’t beat yourself up about it: Try a walking pad instead. Also known as under-desk treadmills, these minimal machines are meant for taking leisurely walks indoors, whether underneath your standing desk or in front of a television set. They also help dodge bad weather and get your blood pumping instantly.
If you’ve always wanted to try one or need a way to optimize your health, we found a walking pad on sale at a jaw-dropping price of just under $100. Typically hovering around $199.99, this walking pad is back to its 50% off deal right now, dropping its price to just $99.99. That’s a solid price for what one reviewer says has been “life-changing” for their health, motivating them to “keep moving during the work day and shake up a sedentary lifestyle.” Another says it’s also helped grant them “less lower back pain and overall more mobility and energy.”
This particular model can handle speeds between 0 and 3.8 MPH, making it great for anyone who wants to walk at a slow pace without amping up into a run. It has a non-slip belt for staying steady and balanced, and it’s layered with silicone to reduce impact on muscles, ankles and joints. To operate, you just plug it in and use the included remote control, while an LED screen at the top of the pad tells you when it’s powered on and how fast it’s going.
Users have shared plenty of success stories about how their walking pad helps keep them active. “Besides losing weight and having no back pain, I genuinely love waking up and getting a workout in, even if it’s just walking,” says reviewer Myla. “I feel so good and accomplished. The speed goes up to 3.8, which at first I thought was kinda low, but it’s actually perfect. I walk at 3.0 and work my way up to 3.5, I walk at least 1 mile, but aim for 2 most mornings (3 total for the day) and I work up a huge sweat.”
Several users say it fits underneath their beds and sofas for easy storage, and its wheels make it simple to move around the home. However, many say the pad can overheat on a carpet, so be sure to let it breathe while it’s on. Also, per one satisfied reviewer, “There are plastic mats you can get to avoid that.”
Grab this minimal treadmill now while on sale at a rare price because it’s sure to go back up soon, and make sure to read on for more happy customer stories.
“I spent almost a year going back and forth with myself about getting a walking pad because it’s expensive and I didn’t want it to be one of those things that I use for a month and then forget about it. I finally got it and it’s been such a blessing. I gained some weight and that was the main reason I decided to make the purchase. I’m happy to report that I’ve been losing the weight. My Apple Watch fitness trends are night and day, I get over 10k steps a day, and that alone gives me the motivation to stay consistent. Sometimes I won’t use it on a weekend and that’s okay. Something else I want to share is I’ve been struggling with lower back pain for the last year. As soon as I woke up in the morning my back was hurting. I changed my mattress thinking that was the problem and it didn’t help. I really was miserable. Well, the other day at the grocery store with my husband all of a sudden it hit me that I haven’t been having back pain anymore. I didn’t even realize it, which is crazy. The only thing that has changed is that I’ve been walking a lot more, so I’m convinced it was due to not being active enough! Besides losing weight and having no back pain, I genuinely love waking up and getting a work out in, even if it’s just walking. I feel so good and accomplished. The speed goes up to 3.8 which at first I thought that was kinda low, but it’s actually perfect. I walk at 3.0 and work my way up to 3.5, I walk at least 1 mile, but aim for 2 most mornings (3 total for the day) and I work up a huge sweat.” — Myla (This review has been edited for length. “I was apprehensive purchasing this walking pad because of some reviews saying the belt keeps moving to one side and it overheats.
But if you follow instructions it works like a charm. Don’t use it on medium to high pile carpet. The motor will overheat. (There are plastic mats you can get to avoid that). If the belt moves to one side it’s no big deal. It’s super easy to adjust and the instructions are clear. Make sure you lubricate the belt as recommended (even a bit before you start your first walk) Keep in mind this isn’t your “Gym/Cardio” treadmill. It’s a walking pad designed to keep you moving at a pretty good pace while working at your standing desk.I keep it at 2.3 and can still type etc. If I attend webinars or trainings (where all I have to do is watch and listen) I crank her up to 3.3 or full speed 3.8. It’s been a game changer. Less lower back pain and overall more mobility and energy.” — TB
“Incorporating this treadmill into my daily life has significantly increased my physical activity, even on the busiest days. I’ve noticed improved energy levels, better posture, and a reduction in the stress and fatigue that often come with prolonged sitting. It’s a fantastic way to stay active and healthy, especially for those who work from home.
[…] The Walking Treadmill Machine is a game-changer for anyone looking to incorporate more movement into their daily routine. It’s well-built, user-friendly, and packed with features that make walking at home or the office convenient and enjoyable. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable and effective way to stay active. Five stars!” — la24fan (This review has been edited for length. Read the full review here.)
“Walk in the privacy and comfort in my home regardless of extreme heat or cold. As a retiree, it is a welcome physical fitness device I can use in private and environmental comfort! The remote control on a wristlet is a game changer!!” — Kay B
“I recently purchased this compact treadmill to use at work, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. This treadmill is incredibly quiet, so I’m not disturbing my coworkers. It’s the perfect size for my small office and fits easily under my desk. The controls are user-friendly and easy to use, so I can quickly adjust my speed. I love that I can get in a quick workout while I work, and I feel much more energized throughout the day. Overall, I highly recommend this compact treadmill to anyone looking for an easy and efficient way to stay active throughout the day.” — Kelsey
