Liam Payne’s girlfriend has revealed she gave the One Direction star an ultimatum days before his tragic death.
Payne jumped to his death on October 16 from a hotel balcony in Argentina where he had been holidaying with his partner Kate Cassidy.
Cassidy was not in Argentina at the time of the fatal incident, having returned home to Miami two days before.

It has now been revealed Cassidy — who was first linked to Payne in October 2022 — left the country after telling the troubled musician he had to pick between her or the drugs he was taking.
A close friend of Cassidy’s told the New York Post that Payne chose the drugs.
“His drug use was causing a lot of drama,” the friend told the media outlet.
“So she gave him an ultimatum: her or the drugs.
“He chose the drugs, so she had no choice but to remove herself from the situation.”
She hoped that leaving the country and giving Payne tough love would encourage him to follow her home.
“She didn’t know that it would end the way it did,” the friend added.
Payne’s death is still under investigation but a toxicology report showed he had consumed a concoction of drugs.
The heartbroken content creator has only spoken publicly once since his death, saying she was at a “complete loss” and wanted privacy.
In her statement on October 19, she addressed Payne directly, calling the artist her “angel”.
“You are everything,” she said.
“I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely.
“I will continue to love you for the rest of my life.
“I love you, Liam.”
