Leonardo DiCaprio Kisses Kate Winslet On The Lips During Surprise Reunion

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are giving “Titanic” fans what they’ve apparently wanted.

Twenty-seven years after the blockbuster made them both stars, DiCaprio attended a screening of Winslet’s new film “Lee” at the Harmony Gold Theater Wednesday in Los Angeles — and not only introduced Winslet but kissed her on the lips.

“Kate, my dear friend, your work in this film has been nothing short of transformative,” he said onstage, according to footage shared on YouTube. “I continue to be awestruck, I continue to admire your strength, your integrity, your talent, and your passion to every single project.”

Winslet, whom DiCaprio called “one of the great talents of my generation” before finishing his introduction and handing her the microphone, was visibly emotional — and admitted after locking lips with DiCaprio: “I can’t even look at Leo now, or else I’ll cry.”

DiCaprio and Winslet developed a lifelong bond after the grueling production of James Cameron’s 1997 film and the worldwide attention from fans and paparazzi that followed. They also co-starred in 2008’s “Revolutionary Road” together.

“They really have the most beautiful platonic love affair,” one Instagram user commented on a photo of the actors embracing each other, with another person pleading: “Omg I just love them!! Can they please get married already?!??”

A prospective wedding currently seems like a non-starter, however, as Winslet has been married to Richard Branson’s nephew, Edward Abel Smith, since 2012. Others reacted to the reunion by noting DiCaprio’s penchant for exclusively dating women in their 20s.

While most social media onlookers were nonetheless overjoyed to see their “besties” share a smooch, Winslet previously revealed that kissing him for “Titanic” was “not all it’s cracked up to be.” Regardless, the pair have maintained a decades-long friendship.

“Like so many friendships globally, we’ve missed each other because of COVID,” Winslet told The Guardian in 2021 about their first reunion after the pandemic. “He’s my friend, my really close friend. We’re bonded for life.”
