Larry Emdur surprises Seven’s morning TV staff with pizza party after his Gold Logie win

Larry Emdur has surprised Seven’s morning TV staff with a pizza party following his Gold Logie win.

Emdur, known as one of the nicest guys in showbiz, organised a pizza truck to turn up outside Seven’s studio for the broadcaster’s employees on Thursday — about 150 staff.

The 40-year TV career veteran said he wanted to thank Seven staff for getting behind him in the lead-up to the Logies.

“Larry here. My a** is ok, thanks for asking in the lift, in the foyer, in the carpark, in the studio, in the coffee shop,” Larry joked in an e-mail, referring to his Logie tattoo on The Morning Show.

“I know this Logie belongs to you all, it’s been a huge team effort and I know, willingly or unwillingly, most of you were roped into the Logies campaign.

“I can only think of one way to thank you all, all at once. PIZZA!!!!!”

Emdur assured he had catered for everyone with gluten-free and vegetarian options.

The long-time TV host finished the e-mail with his typical sense of humour.

“Even if you voted for Andy Lee, please grab a pizza,” he finished.

Emdur, one of the most beloved men on Australian TV, took home two Logie Awards at the star-studded ceremony at The Star, on Sunday night.

He took home Australia’s most popular TV presenter, the Bert Newton Award, along with the Gold Logie — beating out Tony Armstrong, Andy Lee, Sonia Kruger, Robert Irwin, Julia Morris, and Asher Keddie for the highly-coveted award.

Earlier this week, Emudr got a tattoo of his fellow nominees on The Morning Show, after making a promise before winning the award.

During a Sunrise interview on Monday, Emdur told Nat and Shirvo it was the “dumbest promise he was ever made” after his win, laughing off the challenge.

Reflecting on his Gold Logie speech, Larry said it was a “surreal” moment in his career.

“I knew I needed to thank my work family and my family family — I knew I wanted to thank the other nominees,” Emdur said.

“It was so surreal. I was standing up there just looking down at all these famous people. I was thinking it was really a moment.

“I was so humbled, thrilled and honoured … you just go wow, all of TV is in this room. Everything I worked for and everything I wanted to be part of (in my career).”
