Kylie Jenner is living “la dolce vita” in Rome. The reality star and beauty mogul is currently on vacation in the city with her two children, daughter Stormi and son Aire, as well as her best friend, Anastasia Karanikolaou. Yesterday, Jenner was spotted heading out for lunch amidst the sightseeing—and she brought along a polished outfit for the occasion. Leaning into a more classic, refined sensibility, Jenner chose a sleek black dress for the outing. Her choice of shoes, however, proved to be a little more, well, unexpected. Jenner slipped on one of fashion’s most polarizing styles.

The statement shoes in question? A pair of Margiela Tabis, the label’s signature split-toe silhouette. Love them or loathe them, the hoof-like shoes have been embraced by tons of celebrities recently, including Dua Lipa, Cardi B, and Rosalia. But leave it to Jenner to make them feel fresh for vacation season; With the open-back mule design and rounded toe, her Tabi ballet flats felt perfectly on-point for a summer getaway. Her oversized tan tote bag with gold hardware, meanwhile, was also perfectly on-trend. (Stars are loving oversized bags.) Who would have thought that a pair of Tabis could be just as tourist-friendly as a pair of sneakers or regular flats?
