Kim Kardashian Wears Butter Yellow Like Only She Can

Surely by now, you’ve heard that butter yellow is the color of the season. Hailey Bieber wore a Jacquemus peplum dress in the pale shade to her baby shower; Sabrina Carpenter took a sparkly Miu Miu number to the Variety Power of Young Hollywood party. Now, Kim Kardashian is getting in on the hue du jour.

“It is a neutral shade that shape-shifts with the rest of your wardrobe, with your personality, to become whatever you want it to become,” my colleague Laia Garcia-Furtado wrote back in 2022. And Kardashian has made butter yellow her own, by God. On Friday, the reality star and entrepreneur was spotted leaving her son Saint West’s basketball game toting both her son’s bag and an eye-catching accessory: an enormous butter yellow messenger bag from ERL, which retails for $1,850.

Kardashian opted for a lowkey look (by her standards) for the children’s basketball game. Keeping with the sporty environment, she wore a white crewneck tee, knotted at the waist with the sleeves pushed up into a muscle tank silhouette, raw-hemmed Balenciaga sweatpants, and black flip flops. But, as she’s wont to do, Kardashian completed the look with her totally bananas accessory.

This isn’t the first time a member of the Kardashian-West family has championed the Los Angeles label ERL. Designer Eli Russell Linnetz fashioned North West’s streetwear-inspired take on Simba for her performance of “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” at the Hollywood Bowl. It seems that, with her big Birdesque bag, Kim Kardashian is getting in on the latest trends on her own terms.
