Singer Kid Rock, a conservative firebrand and staunch supporter of President-elect Donald Trump, released a new video with an unexpectedly subdued reaction to last week’s election results.
The video begins with slate calling it a “Kid Rock vs. Bob Ritchie” reaction, referring to his stage name followed by his real name.
Kid Rock’s reaction is about what fans might expect: He steps out in a bright red tracksuit, dons his own version of a MAGA hat, puffs on a cigar, drops the mic, grabs his crotch and gives the finger to the camera, all without saying a word.
But Bob Ritchie, clad in shorts and a plain T-shirt, is much more diplomatic as he urges his fans not to gloat.
“We must remember that most of our left-leaning friends are good people who want the same things in life as we do but simply think differently on how to get there,” he said. “It is now time to be the bigger man, to extend an olive branch, and unite all reasonable people of this great nation.”
The video goes on to praise Trump, and ends with a plug for his 2025 concert tour:
Based on the responses to the message on X, not all of his fans are on board ― and more than a few say they plan to gloat, at least just a little bit.
Kid Rock admitted in a Rolling Stone profile earlier this year that he’s had a hand in dividing the nation.
“I’m part of the problem,” he said. “I’m one of the polarizing people, no question. Sometimes I bitch about other people, then I look in the mirror and I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah, why don’t you shut the fuck up too?’”
