Kia Sonet facelift: Kia India launches new Sonet facelift; here’s all you need to know about the new model

Kia India launched the new and updated Kia Sonet facelift to the Indian market on Thursday with enhanced features and new upgrade. Pre bookings for the new model will start from December 20 onwards.

The new Sonet facelift features cosmetic upgrades, additional features, improved dynamics, improved safety and much more.

The company had released multiple teasers on social media which revealed the front and rear facia and the company also confirmed the new Sonet will get ADAS.

In terms of design, the new Sonet features boomerang-shaped headlamp clusters with the signature tiger-nose grille. The DRLs now extend downwards and it get an overall refreshed design. It also gets re-designed front facia with a new bumpers. At sides, the overall profile looks largely unchanged but it gets re-designed dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets connected to LED taillights which look similar to the Seltos. The rear bumper is re-designed and it also gets an integrated spoiler.

The latest Sonet is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including warnings for forward collisions (for cars, pedestrians, and cyclists), lane-keeping assistance and departure warnings, driver attention warnings, high-beam assistance, lane following assistance, and alerts for lane departure by the leading vehicle. In the safety department, it features six airbags, Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), stability control, front and rear parking sensors, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and various other safety features.

Sonet facelift has no updates in terms of powertrain. The SUV will continue to be offered with three engine options – a 120 PS 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, 83PS 1.2-litre NA petrol, and 116PS 1.5-litre turbo diesel engines. Gearbox options will include iMT (clutchless manual), AT and 5-speed manual. The Kia Sonet facelift continues to compete with Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Mahindra XUV 300.
