Kia India launched the EV9 electric SUV at Rs 1.3 crore and the Carnival Limousine at Rs 63.9 lakh. Both will be imported as completely built units (CBUs).
“Next year, we plan to introduce one electric model in the mass segment,” Lee told news agency PTI in an interview.
Kia India aims to strengthen its presence in the sports utility vehicle segment but will not enter the micro SUV market. The company hopes to achieve 4 lakh unit sales annually in India by 2030, making it Kia’s third-largest market globally.
Lee stated that Kia India is undergoing a transformation strategy aimed at redefining the automobile experience while maintaining core values. “The Kia 2.0 transformation is aimed to redefine how you perceive automobiles conventionally, while keeping the cores intact,” he said.
Kia India National Head Sales and Marketing Hardeep Singh Brar mentioned that the company expects to end this year with sales of 2.5 lakh units and aims for 3 lakh units next year. Brar also expressed optimism about the upcoming festive season, anticipating a sales boost to make up for recent slowdowns.
