An iconic favourite KFC item is set to make a return to Australian restaurants on Tuesday.
Fans of food on a stick are in for a spicy treat as KFC reintroduces its popular Hot Rods. The product was originally launched in 2007 and made another appearance in 2021.
KFC’s Hot Rods feature a crispy golden coating and are paired with the fast food chain’s aioli sauce. Their convenient form factor makes them an ideal snack for on-the-go enjoyment, which adds to the popularity.

“After a wildly successful comeback in 2021, we’re thrilled to bring back KFC’s Hot Rods once more,” KFC Australia chief marketing officer Tami Cunningham said.
“Back by popular demand, these skewered treats offer a fresh take on our iconic flavours, and we’re excited for fans to satisfy their cravings for food on a stick and spice. However, Hot Rods are only available for a limited time, so get them while you can.”
Hot Rods are available as a two-piece snack with a side of KFC’s aioli sauce for just $4.95 at KFC restaurants or via the KFC app for a discounted price of $2.95.
Customers seeking a full meal can opt for the Hot Rods Combo for $8.95, which includes two Hot Rods, aioli sauce, chips and a drink.
For a more comprehensive option, the $4.95 Fill Up Ft. Hot Rods includes one Hot Rod, one Original Tender, chips, aioli, potato & gravy and a dinner roll.
The Hot Rods will be available for purchase from Tuesday, April 16 to Monday, May 13 across participating KFC restaurants nationwide.
However, South Australian customers will miss out on this treat as another surprise menu item is set to be offered in its place.
